David Sander was born in Prahran, Melbourne, Australia on the 8th of May 1969. His father was an electronics engineer and his mother a book-keeper.
In 1979 the family moved to Sydney, where David attended St Ives North Public School and later St Ives High School. In 1988 David attended Wollongong University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English, majoring in theatre and film making.
In February 1993 David opened the doors of his small business providing desktop publishing services to the business community of Sydney. Later he diversified into visual effects for television and film, and freelanced for a series of companies providing graphics and visual effects for corporate videos, television documentaries and commercials, short films, music videos and feature films.
